It all started in 1984, in Barcelona's Raval neighborhood, with a jacket made from recycled pieces of denim, now considered one of fashion's first upcycled designs. Filmmaker Isabel Coixet gave us our name, and with it our attitude: "no es lo mismo." It's not the same. We've been proving it ever since.

From day one, Desigual has been a meeting point for people drawn to a world that is free, authentic, optimistic, uninhibited and unmistakably Mediterranean. More than four decades later, that spirit still travels from Barcelona to the rest of the world.

Today, we're wherever you want to find us: on the street, online, in department stores, or at the airport while you pick up the last gift of your trip.

In 2020, when plans changed for everyone, one message came straight from the heart: Life is awesome. Optimism, difference and the joy of living are why we exist, and they shape everything we do.
